Take a step back in time at this historic hotel in downtown Bath, NY. It overlooks the town square that holds seasonal outdoor markets and is adjacent to the historic county courthouse. Close drive to Bath National cemetery at the VA Center and to mossy bank. The rooms are definitely affordable for all. They are clean, but as this a historic building, you will notice some wear and tear. If you appreciate a vintage experience this is the place to stay! The owners are the cutest old couple and the maid/night manger was very helpful after we figured out the online booking thing.

A very special place…..a part of Bath, NY history. Built in 1915, 4 -story with a restaurant/bar/retail space on bottom and two floors of guest rooms above. Total of 24 rooms, each has its own bathroom

We enjoyed our stay at this old hotel. The rooms were clean and very adequate considering the price / value ratio. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their lounge area and the food and drink we purchased. The place was safe. This isn't the Waldorf, mind you, but it is a wonderful old hotel. The elevators creek and groan but it seemed to add to the charm. I would definately stay there again.

We loved this cool old historic hotel in downtown Bath, location was great! Stayed there in June of 2014 with sister and cousin for a week. Staff very friendly and helpful, very clean, beds comfortable. Parking not the best and it is an old hotel, but it worked for us.

Knowing it is a budget hotel, and old as named, it looks decent, clean beds, toilet. If expectations match price we pay, this is just good enough to stay a night or two. Walkable to restaurants. Run by John, an old good man, so keep limited expectations.

Very kind owners. Stayed for one day to visit family locally. Everything was very clean, loved the vintage aesthetics, and clearly the best deal in town.

A Nostalgic Gem in the Heart of Bath If you are seeking a stay that is rich in historic charm and community spirit, the Old National Hotel in Bath, NY, is a delightful option (fast drive to Keuka lake). Housed within one of Bath’s classic century‑old buildings (part of the Liberty Street Historic District dating back to the mid‑1800s) the hotel beautifully preserves its original architecture and design. The welcoming façade, vintage woodwork, and old‑style elevator evoke the quaint elegance of a bygone era. Inside, the rooms are intentionally simple. Clean, modest quarters with essential furnishings: a seating area, desk, and air conditioning. The charm lies in their honest straightforwardness. The mattresses are comfortably firm, overall the rooms are clean and decent, with a lot of character. Ownership is minimal but heartfelt. Behind the front desk and tending bar is an endearing elderly gentleman who is patient, warm, and friendly. His sincere hospitality, and casual check‑in feels more like checking in with an old family friend. The booking process is laid back, without a flurry of corporate formalities, adding to the hotel's unpretentious charm. It is worth noting this may not be the place for every traveler. Amenities are limited: no in‑room coffee maker, micro‑fridge, microwave, or high-end bathroom fixtures. The hotel’s simplicity and modest upkeep reflect its small‑town roots. Still, if you appreciate a no‑nonsense stay in support of a small NY community, it’s a wonderful value. For the price, the Old National offers an experience steeped in nostalgia. It is a simple, heartfelt stay, perfect for those who prioritize experience over extravagance, and who value backing a local legacy. If your expectations lean toward authentic architecture, community hospitality, and supporting a small town, you will have fond memories. The Old National is not a modern luxury, nor should it be as its simplicity is genuinely endearing.
